Ahh shit. Got so much to write but have to rush this cos' I needa start studying cos MYE are like less than 2 weeks away. CRAP! Kk. Even though I wanna blog about it, I shall postpone the entry 'bout econs sleepover-cum-project. (:

Kkaes, SECDC Camp was pretty cool but at the same time I'm glad it was over when it ended. Well, Hawk... what can I say? Started off pretty roughly as all of them were quite reserved and stuff but by the end of the camp, all of the Hawkers really came around and I think JiaTian, Sarah, Keni & I are all damn proud of them. Sure, they could be a little higher but... they tried their best, I believe. (: Oh and special mention goes to Li Ping, Althea and Tiara. You guys... seriously ROCK.

Yeah, basically it was Urban Ex, Low Elements then CIP Discussion on Day 1. Day 2 was High Elements, Kayaking, Field Cooking, Campfire as well as Nightwalk. Day 3 was mainly cleaning up and doing the CIP. Urban Ex started off badly, with Hawk in like... dead last. But we ended up being the first group to reach the end point at Braddell. (through planning & using our bus rides wisely!)

Then we took a bus to Jalan Bahtera Campsite. (see previous post). And actually from the end of Urban Ex to reaching there, I felt like quite bad. Like super unmotivated to do anything. But it wasn't anything a half an hour nap couldn't cure. (: Then after we reached the campsite, we had Low Elements, which was just okay-okay as the group was still quite low. (despite all 4 GIs trying our hardest to spur them on) Then I think things started turning around during the CIP discussion when we left our group to discuss on their own. They really seem to (for the first time) be having fun and bonding with one another. Then later at night, the whole St.Pats & their "contraband item(s)" fiasco happened and we had to like raid everybody's bag for those "forbidden items". In the end one bottle of Vodka was surrendered and yeah... Quite... unexpected.

Day 2 was definitely a better day. High Elements! Whee. Got to belay like 5 people? Quite cool to belay! But the tying of the knot is abit irritating. But yeah. It was quite nice. The long wait before climbing is quite anti-climax though. Then kayaking was damn nice! One of the best parts of the camp, I think. Quite funny to see the campers like unable to control their boat. I dun think the first time I kayaked (at exactly the same place!) was that comical-looking. :p But anyway, most of them got the hang of it pretty quickly and yeah... It was cool.

Then field cooking was also kinda fun. The groups were kinda mixed and yeah, I enjoyed watching them field cook their spaghetti with chilli/tomato/oyster sauce pasta gravy. Then was campfire! The clouds were like super gloomy and we were all quite worried that it'd ruin our night activities. But luckily it rained only for a few minutes and stopped. Wohoo. Anyways, campfire was fun as usual and once again, was proud of the "Hawk-ers" for their albeit short but still pretty okay campfire item. Then the singing of songs blah blah were great as usual. I think Father Abraham that song is damnn nice to sing!

K then after that was nightwalk! haha. Was very excited for it. Was partnered with Joan and we were stationed relatively near to the campsite. Haha, oh my god lahs. It got super boring and we were dozing off by like 1am? Damn hard to keep awake. Then we were like starting to get so tired that we couldn't properly comprehend what we were saying to each other. haha, damn funny. Then after that like Wei Fang and Chang Da joined us at our station and I think I MIGHT have saw SOMETHING. Probably my hallucination since I was like so tired but... it was quite vivid.

Kk. Then Day 3 was the last day of camp! After the smooth cleaning up, (Hawk and some others were in charge of cleaning up the bunks) the bus was late so we had to play random team building games. My group mainly played Bang Bang Chucky and yeah, it was super fun cos we had to do damn lame forfeits and we also saw other groups doing forfeits.

Then later was the rather controversial "Free Briyani Lunch" at Eunos. Well, it was a little weird coming as a whole "camp" to the rather religious-looking ceremony and eating the free food and then leaving immediately after that. But all I can say is that their Briyani was seriously damn good. I liked it alot. =D (maybe I was just hungry).

Anyways! We proceeded to Old Airport Road that area to do the CIP thing. We helped this lady called Aunty Margaret clean her house and we also bought like some groceries for her and then we stayed around to talk to her. She's a really nice woman. (: But it definitely got a little bit weird when she started preaching like Christianity to us. But coming from a Christian school, I wasn't quite bothered by it. Overall I still felt that it was a super fulfilling CIP to do. (:

Then after that we bused back to Eunos for break camp! Yeah and that's basically it. Hawk hawk hawk hawk hawk, Hawk PUI! Hahaha. Damn cool. And yeah, later we (ODAC-26TH) returned to VJ for debrief and stuff and I think we definitely learnt important stuff regarding holding a camp for juniors.
